Ford (F) just may have another Mustang model on the way, according to a job posting listed on LinkedIn. The automaker revealed that the selected job candidate will be the “final sign off on the Ford 2023 Mustang S650 vehicle program before it goes to customers.”

The job listing was discovered by Mustang6G forums, giving some insight that the new Mustang S650 will launch in 2022 as a 2023 model year vehicle.

The job ad is looking for a wind/road noise and air leakage plant vehicle team (PVT) engineer that will work at Ford’s Flat Rock plant in Michigan. Those that apply to the job posting will be directed to the Ford recruiting website, where the position is also posted from LinkedIn.

While it is unknown if Ford was aware of the details it was revealing about the Mustang S650, it certainly shines a spotlight on what is to come from the automaker.

In August 2018, Automotive News did publish a report that indicated that the next iteration of the Mustang was pushed back a year. Now it seems the S650 will come out even a year later than previously thought in 2022.

The current Mustang model is the S550, which has received some updates and enhancements since its launch in 2015.

Shares of Ford stock were down 9.86% as of 10:37 a.m. EST on Wednesday.
