As part of its ongoing effort to encourage people to stay home during a global pandemic, adult entertainment website Pornhub has expanded the scope of its offer for a month of free premium service. Previously, the website had offered its subscription service to European countries hit hard by coronavirus, including Italy, France and Spain.

The Montreal-based website is continuing the promotion to help encourage users to stay inside and practice social distancing and self-isolation, which are recommended methods of preventing the spread of contagious diseases. Upon visiting the promo’s official link, Pornhub.com/stayhome, users are greeted by a page asking them to help “Flatten the Curve.”

“Pornhub is encouraging people around the world to stay home to help flatten the Coronavirus curve by self-isolating with FREE Premium!” the promo page reads.

Users are prompted to check a box affirming that they will either “agree to self isolate” or, if that is not an option for them, promise to practice social distancing and regularly wash their hands. Finishing the sign-up process grants users a month of the premium service, which usually costs $10 a month.

“With nearly one billion people in lockdown across the world because of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s important that we lend a hand and provide them with an enjoyable way to pass the time,” Corey Price, Vice President of Pornhub, said in a statement. “We hope by expanding our offer of free Pornhub Premium worldwide, people have an extra incentive to stay home and flatten the curve.”

Pornhub will also be donating $25,000 in coronavirus relief funds to the Sex Workers Outreach Program, in addition to tens of thousands of surgical masks to various hospitals and paramedic groups, including Mount Sinai South Nassau.

Pornhub was founded in 2007 and was acquired by media company MindGeek in 2010. One of the most popular pornography hosting platforms in the world, in 2019 the company boasted 42 billion total visitors, averaging around 115 million per day.
