Move over Samwell, there is a new Tarly in Westeros. It’s confirmed that “UnREAL” alum Freddie Stroma will be joining “Game of Thrones” Season 6 as Dickon Tarly, the brother of Night’s Watch member Sawmwell (John Bradley).

Buzzfeed confirmed the casting news Friday morning, revealing that Stroma will be joining the “Game of Thrones” universe in an exciting new role. What makes the role that much more interesting is that fans of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” books don’t know too much about Samwell’s younger brother. So far in the novels he has only been mentioned.

What we do know about Dickon Tarly is that he is the second son of Lord Randyll and Lady Melessa Florent. However, when his father Lord Randyll forced Samwell to join the Night’s Watch, Dickon became the heir to House Tarly. In the “A Dance with Dragons” book Dickon wed the daughter of the Lord of Maidenpool, Eleanor Mooton.

Since Dickon doesn’t have a large role in the books, it’s unclear how the character will play out on screen. But because the HBO series is currently ahead of Martin’s novels, it’s pretty open where the storyline could take the new character. When viewers last left off, Sam had left Castle Black for Oldtown to study to become a Maestor for the Watch. He didn't know about the uprising that the men planned to kill Jon Snow (Kit Harrington).

The addition to Freddie Stroma, it was announced earlier this week that actor Pilou Asbæk was cast as Euron Greyjoy, the uncle to Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). “Game of Thrones” Season 6 premieres on HBO in 2016.
