Game of Thrones
HBO released a "Game of Thrones" Season 7 teaser, but it didn't reveal any spoilers about Cersei (Lena Headey) or the other characters. HBO

San Diego Comic-Con happened over the weekend, attracting pop-culture lovers hoping to get scoop about their favorite comics, movies and TV shows. Many use the event as a way to release new footage and give sneak peek looks, and “Game of Thrones” fans were hoping for just that. While HBO did release a Season 7 video, it didn’t reveal much about the drama to come.

“Game of Thrones” cast members John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Conleth Hill (Varys), Faye Marsay (The Waif), Hanna Murray (Gilly), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) were on hand at the Friday panel to discuss the jaw-dropping Season 6 finale. However, Season 7 spoilers were limited. Why? Because they haven’t started filming yet! The video released at SDCC is an “in-production tease” and shows behind-the-scenes footage of the crew preparing for the seventh season. No promo video or official teaser for new episodes has been released.

HBO announced prior to San Diego Comic-Con that filming for Season 7 would begin later this summer. Filming is expected to take place in Northern Ireland, as well as Spain. But the upcoming production doesn’t mean that “Game of Thrones” fans will be able to feast their eyes on new footage anytime soon. In fact, the seventh season is expected to premiere later than normal. While new seasons have generally premiered in April, the shortened seventh season is not set to debut until Summer 2017.
