Christmas Eve has finally arrived and while the residents of Port Charles have already begun their holiday celebration, on the Monday Dec. 24 episode of “General Hospital,” ABC will not air a new episode of the soap opera.

Instead, the daytime series will it be pre-empted and an old episode from Dec. 23, 2005, is scheduled to air.

This blast from the past will feature former characters like Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), Lucky Spencer (Greg Vaughan) and Jasper ”Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), who are eager to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones.

When “General Hospital” airs on Monday, viewers will see Lucky and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) prepare for the holidays as Jax finally declares his love for Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis).

Elsewhere, families like the Corinthos and Quartermaines will gather for their annual holiday celebrations, while Noah Drake (Rick Springfield) dresses up as Santa Claus.

Fans may want to tune into this episode of “GH” because there will not be an episode of “GH” airing on Tuesday, Dec. 25, Christmas day. The network is scheduled to broadcast the NBA basketball game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.

“General Hospital” is expected to resume airing new episodes on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 3 p.m. EST on ABC.
