KEY POINTS

  • Patch 2.5 will have two rerun banners and one major event rerun
  • New enemies and a new weekly boss will be added to the game
  • Yae Miko is going to be the highlight of Patch 2.5

The latest update for “Genshin Impact” is set to bring loads of new content to the game, from a new playable character to what could be the final act of the Traveler’s stay in Inazuma.

MiHoYo added plenty of new features to the game throughout the 2.0 series of patches, but they aren’t done yet. Here’s everything players can expect in the new patch version, as shown in the latest live stream.

Yae Miko and Character Rerun Banners

Yae Miko takes Patch 2.5’s spotlight as “Genshin Impact’s” next 5-star Electro unit in the limited character banner along with her signature catalyst in the weapon banner. She’s set to be the game’s latest DPS character, bearing the full force of lightning and thunder to bear.

The Raiden Shogun and Kokomi are also coming back in Patch 2.5 in simultaneous rerun banners, which means that players will have to think carefully about who they’re pulling for in the coming weeks.

New Enemy and Weekly Boss Fight

Three new Shadow Husk-type enemies will be added to the game: Shadow Husk Defenders, Line Breakers and Standard Bearers. These enemies use a variety of weapons and elemental attacks to deal damage but other than that, they don’t appear to do anything special like the Rifthounds.

Additionally, a new weekly boss fight against a heavily-buffed Raiden Shogun puppet will be made available in the new update. The boss will likely be tied to the new story chapters that are also getting added to the game, and the Shogun herself may drop upgrade materials for Yae Miko.

New Events And Reruns

There are three new events lined up for Patch 2.5: Of Drinking A-Dreaming, Divine Ingenuity and Three Realms Gateway Offering.

Of Drinking A-Dreaming is set in Mondstadt, and it will have players mix some drinks for the locals, including their favorite Mondstadt characters. Meanwhile, the Divine Ingenuity event involves creating and beating custom, player-made domains. Lastly, the Three Realms Gateway Offering will have players venture back into Enkanomiya to bring light back into the mysterious realm.

The Hyakunnin Ikki event will have its first rerun in Patch 2.5, and there is going to be another Overflowing Mastery event for double Talent Domain rewards.
