  • Update 1.3 is now live in "Genshin Impact"
  • Xiao is the first playable character featured in the Invitation to Mundane Life banner
  • "Genshin Impact" is in development for Nintendo Switch

“Genshin Impact” version 1.3 is now live with new events, characters, features, and rewards that fans will surely enjoy. Earlier, miHoyo announced that Xiao and Keqing are two character events scheduled to launch in the game through update 1.3, which disappointed a lot of Hu Tao’s fans. Interestingly, it appears that the game developer accidentally confirmed the character’s arrival in the game if the latest discovery is anything to go by.

On Reddit, user the9thEmber shared a piece of evidence that seemingly indicates that Hu Tao could be one of the featured characters coming to “Genshin Impact.” The fan uncovered an unlockable name card for Hu Tao. In the game, unlockable name cards are available for each character upon reaching Friendship Level 10 with the Traveler.

In other words, these name cards are only available for playable characters in the game. However, this is not the first time that players discovered something to back up their claims that Hu Tao will be a playable character in “Genshin Impact.” The official patch notes of update 1.3 actually state that more character banners would be released throughout the current update duration.

Also, based on miHoYo’s announcement, the Xiao banner and Keqing banner have a relatively short duration. Unlike previous character events, Invitation to Mundane Life lasts for only a couple of weeks, while Keqing’s Dance of Lanterns ends in 13 days. These schedules apparently offer enough room for miHoYo to launch another playable character.

There is a prevalent theory in the “Genshin Impact” community claiming that Hu Tao’s arrival in update 1.3 was not announced intentionally because Hu tao is known as a prankster. Additionally, this theory believes that miHoyo deliberately puts it this way to introduce Hu Tao as a surprise character.

While nothing is confirmed yet about the next character arriving in “Genshin Impact,” data mined files and the recently discovered Hu Tao name card reportedly prove that she is coming to the game very soon. The only question is when exactly will the developer launch her.

“Genshin Impact” is available on PC, PS4, iOS, and Android devices.
