KEY POINTS

  • Electro Traveler will be a support unit with a strong energy battery
  • They can synergize extremely well with energy-hungry units like Eula and Beidou
  • Electro Traveler's Burst has a seemingly high DPS potential

The latest pre-installation patch for the upcoming “Genshin Impact” 1.6 update was a treasure trove for data miners. A considerable wealth of information was seemingly uncovered from the new files, including details on what might be the Electro Traveler’s final set of skills.

The Traveler’s Electro skills will reportedly be support-oriented like their other attunements, “Genshin” content creator Kiseki noted in one Facebook post. The leak suggests that Electro Traveler will have much stronger off-field utility and the abilities will bring the full force of lightning to bear. However, the information is not official and might be subject to change.

MiHoYo appears to be giving ER some more attention this time around. According to the leaks, Electro Traveler will be a support character focused on the Energy Recharge aspect of the Electro element as seen with its resonance effect.

Electro Traveler’s Elemental Skill will make them perform three quick Electro-infused attacks that generate Magatama Jades. These Jades will increase a character’s ER when picked up and provide them with some energy for their Bursts. Up to two Jades can be present at any given time.

On the other hand, Electro Traveler’s Elemental Burst will focus more on constant Electro application. When the ability is active, lightning will strike foes that on-field characters hit with either their Normal Attacks or Charged Attacks. The skill is similar to Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst but with Electro DMG instead of Hydro.

If the information turns out to be true, then Electro Traveler will be on-par with Xingqiu as a support character. This can open up some ludicrous team compositions with near-permanent Elemental Burst uptime. Characters like Keqing can make excellent use of the ER buff and particle generation to fuel her low-cooldown Burst, making it ready to cast as soon as the cooldown expires.

Electro Traveler can also be paired with Xingqiu as support for a Superconduct team. A Phys DMG Cryo carry like Eula can constantly apply Superconduct while the Traveler’s Burst and Xingqiu’s Rain Swords can repeatedly apply Electro-Charged to anyone unfortunate enough to be in their way.

The Inazuma update is still in development and it will take some time before the patch hits live servers. In the meantime, players will get to explore the new archipelago area in the Patch 1.6 summer event and get to know more about Kazuha, Beidou and the state of affairs in Inazuma with the new story quest.
