  • “Genshin Impact” is getting a wide variety of content in Update 1.1
  • “A New Star Approaches” update is scheduled to arrive Nov. 11
  • The said update would introduce a new way for players to fight the president of miHoYo

Chinese gaming studio miHoYo recently shared that it would give “Genshin Impact” players the chance to fight against its president, and for those who want to vent their frustrations on the hit action RPG title to the executive, they might be interested in how they could do it.

In a recent interview with IGN, Producer and CEO Hugh Tsai shared that a new monster called Forrest Hilichurl would be introduced to “Genshin Impact” as part of the next big update. It is a specially designed monster, which is an in-game cameo by company president Forrest Liu in the form of a hilichurl, Tsai said. The executive also encouraged players to seek the monster whenever they are in a bad mood or have something they are not happy about the hit gacha game.

Apart from the in-game cameo of the miHoYo president, there are lots of exciting features and additions coming in update 1.1 of “Genshin Impact.” Also known as ‘A New Star Approaches’ update, it would release on PC, PS5, iOS and Android on Nov. 11. Tsai shared that the update would include character-specific side quests and a new Reputation System.

This new system would offer players a separate rating in every city in the game. This rating would be given after completing activities surrounding the location. “Genshin Impact” players, in return, get region-exclusive rewards such as new items and customization options.

Speaking of new items, the forthcoming update would introduce a treasure compass, a portable stove, a portable waypoint and oculus resonance stones that would mark proximate Geoculi and Anemoculi. A new Wind Catcher item that stores anemograna to produce on-demand wind currents would also be introduced in “Genshin Impact” through update 1.1. This item would be beneficial, especially for players who are into exploration.

As for the new series quests, miHoYo has not yet shared any major details about it. Previously, it was leaked that it could include the finale of the Liyue Chapter. Essentially, there might be three full acts of quests in the core storyline of “Genshin Impact.”

The executive also revealed in the interview that the game would be fully playable on Sony’s next-generation gaming console, PS5. Players could expect faster load times and improved graphics when playing “Genshin Impact” on the PS5, the producer noted.
