‘The Gifted’
What will happen to the Strucker family as they try to flee from the government in “The Gifted”? FOX

FOX just dropped nine different teasers introducing nine mutants in the upcoming series, “The Gifted.”

On Friday, July 14, each of the nine clips was uploaded on the show’s official Twitter account. The first clip features Jamie Chung’s character, Blink. She is a mutant who has the ability to teleport through portals. Emma Dumont plays the role of Polaris or the princess of magnetism. According to Polaris, when others see her, they automatically sense trouble, and this is what she will bring in the upcoming episodes.

“True Blood” alum Stephen Moyer will play the role of District Attorney Reed Strucker. Reed and his wife, Caitlin (Amy Acker), will do everything in their power to make sure that their children – who are budding mutants – will be safe. Reed and Caitlin’s children are Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White). All four characters have their own teasers for “The Gifted” Season 1.

The Trucker family will eventually come face-to-face with two other characters that were first introduced in the “X-Men” films. Blair Redford will play the role of John Proudstar, a.k.a. Thunderbird, while Sean Tele will give life to the character of Marcos Diaz/Eclipse. They will get to the know the Truckers while the clan tries to escape from their government.

Cody Bell will play the role of Agent Turner, who is connected to the Sentinel Programs. According to Entertainment Weekly, this is a reference to the “X-Men” comic books where giant robots are meant to take down superheroes. More specifically, Sentinels were introduced in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

Meanwhile, “X-Men” director Bryan Singer was involved in directing the pilot episode for “The Gifted.” The cast and creators of the new FOX series will be attending the upcoming 2017 San Diego Comic Con this month and are expected to unveil the first official trailer at the event. Other cast members for “The Gifted” include Steffan Argus as Jack, Jason Bremer as Sentinel Service Man, Dale Godboldo as Ted Baird and more.

“The Gifted” is slated to premiere on FOX on Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. EST.
