• Google's Pixel 4a 5G comes with a $500 price tag
  • AT&T is launching a promo that lowers the device's price
  • Interested parties can avail of the promo starting Nov. 6

Those who are looking for a 5G-capable device that boasts great specs and features at a very reasonable, even low, price will be glad to know that Google's Pixel 4a 5G offers these – and more.

The Pixel 4a 5G may appear “plain” on the outside, but Gizmodo noted that Google “smartly allocated resources toward the features and components that really matter.” This decision, the site said, resulted in “a nearly ideal $500 phone.”

Spec-wise, the Google Pixel 4a 5G doesn't disappoint.

  • Display

It has a 6.2-inch OLED display with 2,340x1,080 pixel resolution, with 700 nits peak brightness. This will allow users to enjoy watching videos, playing games and more.

  • Innards

The Pixel 4a 5G has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor that offers support for 5G. The chip is powerful enough to handle most tasks but doesn't bump up the device price. This is backed by an ample 6GB of RAM for multitasking purposes.

The smartphone also offers 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The storage isn't expandable.

  • Camera

The Pixel 4a 5G has two rear cameras: a 12.2MP main sensor and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. At the front is an 8MP selfie shooter.

  • Other details

The smartphone has a non-removable 3,880mAh battery capable of sustaining the device for more than 13 hours on a single charge. The battery can be topped up using an 18W fast charger. It has a fingerprint reader at the back for authentication.

Now cheaper

Those specs, coupled with the original $500 selling price, make the Pixel 4a 5G a winner in the midrange smartphone category. A new promo from AT&T, however, makes it a great choice for everyone looking for a new handset that's easy on the budget.

The carrier is offering deals that bring the price of the Pixel 4a 5G down to as low as $5 per month. All new and existing customers can take advantage of the deal by purchasing the device on a qualifying installment plan, be on or change to an eligible unlimited wireless plan and trade in an eligible device.

Those who do not want to trade in an eligible device will still be able to get the Pixel 4a 5G at a low price: $10 per month. Consumers should take note that they'll have to stay locked in for 30 months. The promo starts Nov. 6 via AT&T.
