Theo Galavan (James Frain) has been the criminal mastermind Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) has been pursuing all season on Fox's Batman prequel series "Gotham." While it appears as though Gordon has the upper hand right now on the show, don't expect Theo to be going anywhere before the fall finale. The storyline involving Theo will carry into the second half of Season 2.

In an interview with TVLine, executive producer John Stephens said the show will begin to tell the story of the Order of St. Dumas. In episode 10, Gordon will discover more about Theo's plans and how exactly this Order is involved.

"It’s an old order of monks who for the past 500 years have been anointing a sort of ‘champion’ -- Azrael -- a vigilante assassin who goes out and purges the world of sin. So we’ll be telling that story this season," Stephens dished.

Variety reports that the Order of St. Dumas was established as "an offshoot of the Knights Templar," which helped make the warrior Azrael, who serves as an assassin for the order. Azrael has not been revealed on "Gotham" yet, but the Order of St. Dumas was shown arriving in Gotham City in the final moments of episode 9. Earlier this season, when Father Creel (Ron Rifkin) arrived at Theo's apartment he said warriors were on their way to Gotham to cleanse the city in blood and that Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will die.

Episode 10 will find Gordon looking for further evidence to keep Theo behind bars. He'll come across a suspect who's connected to Theo, while Bruce will get closer to tracking down the person who killed his parents.
