The end of “Gotham” Season 4 will definitely have fans clamoring for more. FOX

Every TV show ends each season with a huge cliffhanger so that fans would be desperate to know what will happen next. However, this Season of “Gotham” would be ending with a pretty “insane” cliffhanger.

"While we're leaving a lot on the table, there’s going to be plenty left for us to put on the table after this season,” executive producer Bryan Wynbrandt told Comic Book. “I mean, we’re driving to a really amazing place where, talk about a cliffhanger! It’s going to be insane.”

Wynbrandt said they aren’t really thinking about the show’s future, since they’re concentrated on making the current season the best one imaginable.

“Right now, our focus is on the characters we have,” he explained. “I mean, we have, I think the biggest cast on television and every one of them deserves their own story. I mean everyone is so good. So right now we’re just trying to figure out the best way to service our cast before we introduce anyone else and for us the exciting thing for us is bringing in Jerome, pushing the story forward and we’re certainly going to leave this season in a place where people are going to want a Season 5.”

Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), who has been known in the series as the Joker (even though he really isn’t), will come back this Season 4 and form an unexpected partnership with the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor).

Taylor said that the two characters cannot be more different, so when they work together, incredible things happen.

“Chaos and order,” Taylor said of the two characters. “These are two things that are very volatile together. At the same time, they both understand fundamentally what it means to control people.”

Taylor said they are like two magnets - they can either instantly attract or repel as far away as possible from one another. “So I think when they find each other; it’s like magnets,” he said. “Are the poles aligned or are they not? Because they could either snap together or be archenemies until the end of time. We’ll have to see.”

“Gotham” Season 4 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
