'Granblue Fantasy Versus': 5th Mystery DLC Character Leaked

Cygames has yet to announce the fifth DLC character to be released for ‘Granblue Fantasy Versus.’ However, an online store page has accidentally leaked the name of the fifth character prior to the announcement. Many fans of the "Granblue Fantasy" are familiar with this character.

The Leak

As seen on the PlayStation Network’s online store page, the "Granblue Fantasy: Versus" color pack 4 now obscures the name of the fifth character. However, many fans were quick to save an image of the leak and the name of the fifth character as seen in the game's subreddit. The fifth character is going to be Zooey, a Primal Being in the world of "Granblue Fantasy."

Who is Zooey?

To many fans, Zooey is a Primal being who looks like the Primal Beast ‘Grand Order’. She is an arbitrator in the world of "Granblue Fantasy" who hunts down other being who disrupt order and often comes to the aid of the main character, Gran. In battle, she wields a sword and shield but has been known to use a large gun too.

As for her appearance in "Granblue Fantasy Versus," it’s not sure which of her iterations will she appear in as she battles in this 2D fighting game. More information about her appearance in this fighting game could be confirmed in the upcoming livestream of the 5th anniversary of the "Granblue Fantasy" mobile game. This livestream would go live this coming March 10. Potentially, the developers could announce a whole different character that could be different from the leak.

The four confirmed DLC characters are already locked in and for release this March and April. The first two characters, namely Chaos Bringer and Narmaya, was just released this March 3 along with the U.S. release for the fighting game. Meanwhile, the third and fourth characters, the brawny brawler Soriz and female protagonist Djeeta, are slated for release in April.

Potentially, the DLC characters could be released just in time before it takes the main stage of the international fighting game tournament EVO 2020 on July. After the tournament, the next set of characters could be confirmed. “Granblue Fantasy: Versus” is noted to have a fast DLC character release cycle as it releases four characters in just two months after its release. Other fighting game titles mostly take a two to seven month gap before releasing new characters.
