Arizona Robbins is going to finally have some luck in the romance department. After divorcing Callie, the pediatric surgeon spent most of the last season of “Grey’s Anatomy” dating around. However, she’ll finally find someone that she connects with in Season 13 of the ABC drama.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes revealed that Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will get a new girlfriend when the show returns. “I’m very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she’s had,” Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly.

The lucky gal’s identity hasn’t been revealed, but Rhimes said that she wants the relationship to be “organic.” Will she meet a woman at the bar she keeps going to with Webber (James Pickens Jr.)? Or will she find love with another co-worker? Fans will have to tune in to find out.

Arizona’s love interest won’t be revealed right away because she won’t be at Grey-Sloan Memorial for the first couple weeks of the new season. “Jessica was very, very delightfully pregnant at the end of last year, and so she’s not in the first two episodes — which everybody brace yourselves for — because she’s taking a little bit of time off for kids, but then she’s back,” Rhimes explained.

Capshaw gave birth to her fourth child, Josephine Kate Gavigan, on May 2, but it looks like her maternity leave is over. She revealed that she started filming “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 last week and teased her new storyline with the hashtag “drama and thrills.”

While Capshaw is absent, there will still be plenty of other drama on “Grey’s.” The long-running series will have a renewed focus on characters like Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and other originals.

“After such a long period of time and so many new people coming in and out, they remain the foundational characters of the show,” Kelly McCreary, who plays Maggie, told TV Guide last month. “We’re gonna be spending some more time with them to check in with where they are. The way that we spent time with Meredith last season, exploring the major shift in her life, the loss of Derek [Patrick Dempsey], I think we can expect to see those doctors being explored where they are in this moment, all these years later, the changes that they’ve gone through.”

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 premieres Thursday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
