“Grey’s Anatomy” is almost back, but before Season 15 starts, fans will want to remember where our favorite surgeons left off. There was plenty of drama in the spring finale.

After a near-death experience, April (Sarah Drew) quit her job to help those in need, but she’s still Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo’s (Camilla Luddington) wedding planner. Unfortunately, her e-vite skills aren’t the best. A bad GPS link sends her former co-workers to the wrong wedding, watching strangers marry. It’s a good thing they’re around though. Ben (Jason George) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) stay behind to treat the mother of the bride, who collapsed.

Bailey goes back to the hospital and needs a cardiologist. Luckily, Teddy (Kim Raver) just arrived. She tells Bailey during surgery that she came back looking for a job, and Bailey later decides Teddy can have her job—temporarily. Bailey wants to take some time to do actual surgery again, so she makes Teddy Interim Chief of Surgery. Of course, Teddy didn’t share that she pregnant with what is most likely Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) baby.

Owen, who has no idea his ex is in town, was more focused on his new little family. He and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) congratulated Betty (Peyton Kennedy) on 30 days sober, and the teen hints to Owen that he should get back together with Amelia. He seems to be warming up to the idea. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) tells Amelia that she’s still in love with Owen later in the night as well.

Meanwhile, Mer hears that Jo got accepted to a program in Massachusetts, but she isn’t thrilled. She offers Jo a job in Seattle because she wants to keep Alex close. Jo, however, thinks Alex told her to offer the job, and she goes to confront him in her wedding dress. Alex assures his bride that he wants her to do what is best for her career, and then they sneak off to have sex in an old shed.

Unfortunately, they get locked in. Even worse, they find a skeleton, meaning someone died in there ages ago without being found. Somehow, they still find a way to laugh about it.

April sends Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), who is moving to New York after the ceremony, to look for the couple while the official wedding planner, Kirsten (Arden Myrin), tells DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) to make a drunken speech. He’s cut off when the planner has to announce that she accidentally ate shellfish and has a deadly allergy. With just vodka, a knife and a pinwheel, April saved her life.

Elsewhere, DeLuca drunkenly throws himself at Meredith, who quickly rejects him. Then, they hear Jo and Alex’s screams and rescue them.

The minister never showed up, so most of the wedding party and their guests are on the ferry to go home. Meredith apologizes to Jo for offering her a job, and Alex promises Mer that distance can’t ruin their friendship. Meredith gets ordained online and marries the happy couple on the boat.

April stays behind to help clean up, and that’s when Matthew (Justin Bruening) proposes to her. Alex and Jo’s minister finally arrives after following the bad GPS link, so April and Matthew get married right there, with Arizona and Richard (James Pickens Jr.) watching.

In “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15, April and Arizona will be gone, but Jo will still be around. After all, the new season picks up right after the finale. Viewers will see her and Alex on their honeymoon while Owen handles the shock of Teddy returning right as he started to accept his feelings for Amelia. Meredith, meanwhile, might change her mind about DeLuca. After all, the promo video (seen at the top of the page) shows them in bed together.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15 premieres Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC with a two-hour episode.
