“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is no longer being directed by James Gunn, but his script may be used when the film is made. In a recent interview, cast member Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula, confirmed that there is a script ready for the film.

Gillan is ready to move forward with the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise even after Gunn’s departure. In an interview with People, she said that she is excited to continue the story and keep delivering for the fans.

The franchise has been put on hold ever since Gunn was let go by Disney. Gillan doesn’t know when they will start filming for the third installment of the sci-fi franchise, but she did confirm that there is a script for the film that exists. The actress isn’t allowed to reveal any details about the project, but she joked that she may have had a “little teeny peek” at this script.

Another confirmation of a script for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” came from journalist Peter Sciretta. In a post on Twitter, Sciretta said that he spoke to two people who have read the script written by Gunn, and they both separately told him that the script made them cry.

Readers should note that just as “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is set to get a new director, the script written by Gunn may not be used. It may be up to Disney and the director to decide on whether or not to proceed with the old script.

“Bumblebee” director Travis Knight was previously tipped to take over Gunn’s position. However, the director has already confirmed that reports of him being eyed to helm “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” are just rumors.

The focus of all the Marvel fans at the moment is “Avengers: Endgame,” which will mark the end of the first phase of the superhero movies that began with “Iron Man.” In a previous post in Twitter, Gunn had teased that his script of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” takes place after the events of the upcoming “Avengers” movie.

In another post on Twitter, Gunn teased the front page of the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” script that he had delivered to Disney. The director, at that time, said that he had put in “every bit” of his heart into writing this script. It remains to be seen if this script will be used.
