Real-life couple Alexa and Carlos PenaVega star in Sunday’s Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas premiere of “Enchanted Christmas.”

While this is their first Hallmark movie together, this isn’t the first project the two have acted in together. The most recent live-action project the couple was was the 2015 film “Spare Parts,” and prior to that, Alexa guest-starred in the series finale of Carlos’ Nickelodeon series “Big Time Rush” in 2013.

Now the married duo is starring in a Christmas Hallmark movie, which also happens to be Carlos’ first movie on the network ever.

Alexa, on the other hand, has been in two other Hallmark Channel movies, including 2016’s “Ms. Matched” with Shawn Roberts and 2017’s “Destination Wedding” with Jeremy Guilbaut. The actress also starred in the Hallmark Hall of Fame film “Follow the Stars Home” in 2001.

Now, the real-life couple is bringing their love to the Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas event, which means the movie’s magic and chemistry should be off the charts.

But, first, it will take a little bit of time for the two to find their way to each other in the film.

“Young widow, Laura Trudeau (Alexa), left behind her love of dancing. She divides her time as a project manager in Los Angeles, raising her seven-year-old daughter Nikki (Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen) and dating her colleague, Scott Jackson (Randy Wayne),” according to the synopsis.

Hardworking that she is, her boss gives her a new project that entails renovating a hotel in her hometown of Rosemont, Utah in time for The 75th Annual Enchanted Christmas Show on Christmas Eve, which is only four weeks away.

“Laura is aghast because she and her former partner Ricardo Archuleta (Carlos) danced in the show annually, until one night 10 years earlier when he told Laura he was leaving for a professional dance tour. Laura has never forgiven him,” the synopsis reveals.

Nonetheless, she does what she’s asked and travels to her hometown with her daughter to oversee the hotel project. It’s there that she runs into Ricardo dancing in the hotel ballroom with his new dance partner. Laura introduces Ricardo to her daughter, Nikki, and that’s when Nikki decides that she wants to dance in the show, too, like Ricardo.

At first Laura doesn’t want her to, but she decides to allow it, though Nikki begins to struggle with the routine. As Nikki gets better, her mom realizes she might need to enter the show again as well. Ricardo’s partner has to bail and all eyes are on Laura to take her place.

“Albeit a bit rusty at first, Laura slips back into her dance shoes and steps onto the ballroom floor to once again dance with Ricardo,” the synopsis teases. “Laura is overwhelmed between the hotel’s deadline and dance rehearsals.”

As Laura makes it work between actual work and dancing, she’s taken aback when she overhears one of Ricardo’s phone calls where his old partner is speaking with him about a business proposition.

What about the love they’re rekindling? Will he leave her behind once again? Will he ask her and Nikki to go with him?

All the answers will be made clear when “Enchanted Christmas” debuts on Hallmark Channel on Sunday at 8 p.m. EST.
