It’s Halloween weekend and whether you’re throwing a party, attending a party or simply doing chores around the house, there’s nothing like a Halloween music playlist to get you in the spooky spirit.

The goal to the perfect playlist is to have some tracks that you can dance to and some that allow you to simply sit back and enjoy the haunting quality of the song.

This list contains a few of the normal classics, as well as a few that are sure to add an extra thrill to the collection. It’s Halloween, a time to celebrate in a fun but spooky manor, and nothing will help you do that better than songs from Stevie Wonder, Britney Spears, Nelly Furtado and more.

What are you waiting for? Check out all the Halloween-esque tracks below and then go ahead and add them to your playlist.

1. Michael Jackson - “Thriller”

There’s a reason you’ll find this song on every Halloween playlist and that’s because it’s a holiday classic.

2. Evanescence - “Bring Me To Life”

Haunting and ethereal, this track is a perfect selection for this holiday.

3. Nina Simone - “I Put A Spell On You”

Songs about spells and Halloween go hand-in-hand. So much so that the classic Halloween flick “Hocus Pocus” included a cover of this song.

4. Britney Spears - “Toxic”

No matter the theme of the party or event, “Toxic” is always going to be a crowd-pleaser. For Halloween, that statement only becomes truer.

5. Ella Henderson - “Ghost”

It has its melancholic moments and it has its pumped-up moments and it has many mentions of “demons” and “ghosts” and “creeping in,” all making it a great choice.

6. Avril Lavigne - “Alice”

Fact: If it’s strange enough for an “Alice in Wonderland” movie then it is strange enough for your list of Halloween songs.

7. Stevie Wonder - “Superstition”

Doesn’t matter how many times you hear this song, it’ll always be funky and fresh and it would be bad luck to not include it.

8. Cassie Steele - “Monster”

The song is angsty and devilish and bound to put listeners in the creepy, holiday mood.

9. Nelly Furtado - “Maneater”

Furtado always knows how to get the party started with her music and this is the perfect song of hers to do just that at a Halloween-themed event.

10. Rick James - “Super Freak”

It’s Rick James, it’s a classic song and the words “super” and “freak” are in it, what more can you ask for from a Halloween song?

11. MKTO - “Superstitious”

With lines like, “You got me paranoid, seeing things that ain’t even there,” this song has all the makings of a Halloween party tune.

12. Taylor Swift - “Haunted”

Nothing like the troubling, real-life lyrics filling up this song to add a dash of horror to a themed get-together. The fact that the old Taylor Swift is now dead only adds to the haunting quality of the song.

13. Flo Rida feat. Sia - “Wild Ones”

Turn up the volume and get wild with this track that’s here for the fun and thrill of it all.
