Author of the famous “Harry Potter” books, J.K. Rowling, revealed her favorite writing place and denied writing about rules for writing.

A netizen asked Rowling on Twitter if she had any habit or superstition as part of her writing process. The netizen cited a particular location or specified room, table or laptop as examples.

The “Harry Potter” author said that she could write anywhere as long as there’s a hard surface to place a pen and paper on. She also revealed that she built a room in her garden, which was her favorite place to write.

The author clarified that she may like to be there but did not need to be in that particular place. She added that there were no superstitions rather a preference for blank ink.

She wrote the first book while waiting at a café in Edinburgh for a delayed train, ABC News reported. Just like other authors who experienced challenges while they were starting, Rowling reportedly sent the first three chapters of the first book to several publishers but they were all rejected.

It was in 1990 when she reportedly planned out the entire “Harry Potter” series. She outlined the plots for the seven books over the next five years, Insider reported.

Christopher Little was the one who accepted her book. Afterwhich, he was able to secure a deal with Bloomsbury to print 500 copies of the “Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone." The said book appeared in print in 1997.

It was previously reported that the title of the book was changed to “Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone” to get the attention of American kids.

Before fame, Rowling lived a difficult life. It was reported that the now-famous author had experienced depression and even sought professional help. Talking to Sunday Times, Rowling said went as deep as having thoughts of committing suicide. In light of her unfortunate past, Rowling reportedly said that she would’ve not written the books if not for her experiences.
