Helen Hunt has joined the long list of celebrities who have managed to maintain their healthy bodies despite age catching up with them.

Hunt, 56, on Sunday, showed off her fit figure in a black two-piece swimming suit while hitting the surf in a Malibu beach.

The “Mad About You” actress has admitted that she doesn’t work out or go on fad diets to maintain her figure. She stays fit, thanks to yoga and other outdoor activities such as hiking and surfing. “As a general rule, I tend to move. I don’t go to the gym ever. I don’t diet ever,” she told Healthy Living magazine in 2015.

Elaborating on her decision to stay away from strict dieting, Hunt said that her body became closer to what she wanted when she dropped the idea of dieting. “It’s a religion for me to never diet. I think it makes you unhappy,” she said.

Admitting that it takes an effort to maintain a healthy figure at her age, Hunt said she makes sure not to go overboard. Eating well and loving her body are important messages she wants to pass on to her 16-year-old daughter Makena.

Actress Christie Brinkley is someone who shares Hunt's love for outdoor activities. The 66-year-old goes for long runs on the beach and is also a fan of surfing and rafting. She also hits the gym regularly.

Former Bond girl Jane Seymour, 69, is yet another actress who has proved that age is just a number. The British actress has an enviable beach body, and she maintains it with regular Pilates and spinning. A trained dancer, Seymour understands her body and adheres to the mantra “less is more.”

To keep her mentally fit, Seymour does meditation and takes long strolls near water bodies.

Staying healthy in middle-age is a challenging task, admitted “Sex and the City” actress Kim Cattrall in an earlier interview, but it is possible with clean eating and regular workouts.

But with age catching up, (Cattrall is now 63) she has learned to ensure that her routines aren’t too strenuous. A long walk is equally satisfying and helpful as a three-mile jog, Cattrall once told Woman and Home magazine.
