Hershey's introduced a new product just in time for the holidays, a jumbo-sized Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Thanksgiving Pie, in a press release Monday.

“At Reese’s, we wanted to create a dessert that everyone wants a piece of. You can thank us later," said Bo Jones, Reese’s senior associate brand manager.

The pie, a replica of the popular peanut butter cups, is 9 inches in diameter and 3.25 pounds of solid peanut butter and chocolate. According to MarketWatch, that would amount to around 7,680 calories, with 160 calories per slice divided into 48 servings.

Sales start on Monday, but there are only 3,000 pies in supply because mass-producing such items is difficult. At $45 per pie, they are likely sell out fast .

“We’re able to see the reaction and then see if it’s something we want to scale in the future,” Hershey spokeswoman Anna Lingeris said.

They have also scaled up on producing variations of the Reese’s brand, as it is one of the most popular candies in the U.S, according to Candystore.com. This year, Hershey’s is counting on Thanksgiving signaling the return to normal holiday celebrations after the pandemic stifled 2020 sales.

“It feels like Thanksgiving is going to come back in a big way,” Allen Dark, a senior brand manager for Reese’s, said.
