High School Musical” alums Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel recently reunited to remix their song, “What I’ve Been Looking For,” from the hit Disney movie.

Eleven years after “High School Musical” was released, Grabeel and Tisdale, who played the role of brother and sister Ryan and Sharpay Evans, respectively, in the film, showcased their singing chops and performed a slowed-down version of their characters’ audition song in the 2006 hit. The song, which was uploaded on Tisdale’s official YouTube channel, has already received over 700,000 views. But the same track has been picked up by other websites and has garnered millions of views.

Before singing “What I’ve Been Looking For,” Tisdale first shared that it was actually Grabeel who came up with the new version of their “High School Musical” song. The actor, who was last seen on television in “Switched at Birth,” asked his friends, including Tisdale, to listen to the song, and everyone fell in love with it. Tisdale also praised Grabeel for being so talented.

Grabeel also explained why he decided to tweak the song 11 years after it was first heard by “High School Musical” fans on the small screen. The actor said that what better way to reunite with Tisdale than by singing “What I’ve Been Looking For.” The actor went on to say that the song just brought back so many memories from the time they were filming “High School Musical,” until the time it was released, as well as all of the concerts where they performed the track.

When Tisdale asked Grabeel what his favorite memory of her was, the latter joked that it definitely has to be the former’s hair. Tisdale also shocked fans when she confessed that she and Grabeel never had a close relationship on the set of “High School Musical.” Despite almost always working together, the two actors hated each other.

“We were not close. We were not good friends, let’s be honest. It’s been 10 years, we can talk about this now. We hated each other. Like, I’m not kidding,” Tisdale confessed. Grabeel added, “We didn’t get off on the best foot.”

But at present, the former co-stars have already patched things up and get along very well.
