Could there finally be a sequel to the 1993 Halloween film "Hocus Pocus"? The movie's producer David Kirschner knows fans want a "Hocus Pocus 2," and revealed in a new interview he's already pitched Disney about a possible TV movie.

According to Yahoo!, Kirschner said Disney turned down a film sequel several years ago but he's still waiting for an answer about a possible Disney Channel Original Movie. The original film starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy as The Sanderson Sisters. Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw and Thora Birch also starred.

“I’ve been doing this a long time, and it shocked me to be a part of something that lighting touched,” Kirschner said.

Parker, Midler and Najimy have all publicly stated that they would return for a second "Hocus Pocus." The 69-year-old singer even joked about the sequel on Twitter Tuesday, writing “@kathynaijmy @SJP Breaking news!! SEQUEL DELAYED!! @Disney having trouble finding a virgin! #HocusPocus."

She also added in another post, "What's that you say? 'Fast and the Furious' has six sequels and 'Hocus Pocus' has zero?"

In 2013, Midler told the Huffington Post that "Hocus Pocus" was one of her favorite movies and the cast had a lot of fun filming it.

"Kids, grown-ups, everyone takes part in it. This movie was kind of like the beginning of the wave,” Midler told the site. “We had a great time making it. It was Kathy Najimy, Sarah Jessica Parker and I and we laughed the whole time.”

Earlier this week Parker opened up about all the chatter surrounding a sequel and told Vulture that for right now it's nothing more than Internet talk.

“I think it’s just on the World Wide Web,” she said. “We’ve all been exchanging funny, not-reality-based messages to one another. [That’s] as much as I know.”
