Imagine searching for something important in your desk drawer and finding a snake instead! Yes, that is exactly what happened to a homeowner in Australia.

Snake catcher Stuart McKenzie with the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 took to Facebook on Tuesday to share the incident, where he called to a home after the owner found a python hiding in his desk drawer.

"This is insane and I reckon if anybody found themselves in this situation it would nearly make you fall off your chair haha. A family had a desk in the home which both adults used regularly, and when one of them opened up the desk drawer to get the stapler out they found a 3 foot Carpet Python instead," McKenzie wrote.

As soon as he received the call, the snake catcher rushed to the home to rescue the reptile.

"I guess its a good excuse to stop working for the night. I headed straight over and relocated the cheeky snake elsewhere," he wrote.

A video of the rescue posted on Facebook shows McKenzie having a conversation with the homeowners, who tell him that one of them opened the drawer and found the python inside.

"Definitely not what you expect to see when you open a door," McKenzie says, before heading to remove the snake.

He then rescues the reptile with his bare hands and places it in a blue bag. The video then cuts to the snake catcher releasing the snake into the wild.

The video has since gone viral with over 35,000 views. Several people took to the comments to share their views.

"Even these carpet snakes need to work, maybe an upcoming zoom meeting soon ??" one person commented.

"What a gorgeous little python. Perhaps he can be trained to change the ink cartridges," wrote another person.

"I think he was a bit frightened! Love seeing them returned to the bush!!" another user commented.
