Meghan Markle made tons of money from her hit TV show "Suits."

The Duchess of Sussex catapulted to fame when she landed the role of Rachel Zane on USA Network's legal drama TV series "Suits." Since Markle's character was significant, she was paid $47,197.20 per episode, according to Emily Hodgin of Express. This means that Prince Harry's wife earned over $424,700 a year, which is far above the earnings of an average American.

Markle also received a huge sum for her small movie roles. For instance, she received $176,032 for her role in "Remember Me" which was produced by her ex-husband Trevor Engelson.

She was also paid $145,418 for her brief appearance on "The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down" a 2016 indie comedy.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Markle is worth $5 million. However, her husband is worth eight times more. In fact, there are speculations that she would eventually surrender her American citizenship due to tax and since she intends to be a UK citizen.

"I can also say she intends to become a UK citizen and will go through the process of that, which some of you may know takes a number of years," Prince Harry's communication's secretary, Jason Knauf said.

If Markle chooses to be a dual citizen, she would have to submit her finances to the U.S. government. But this is not preferable to the members of the royal family who are "notoriously private about their income."

In related news, it was revealed that Markle's father didn't attend her first wedding, too. Thomas Markle Sr. was supposed to give Markle away at the royal wedding, but he canceled her attendance in the last minute following his photo scandal. It was found out that he was also not present at Markle and Engelson's nuptials. So, Thomas missed two big events in his daughter's life. Meanwhile, Markle's mom, Doria Ragland was present in both occasions.

According to Sarah Grossbard of E! News, Ragland is the only family member who would never sell the duchess out. If there's one person that the new royal can count on it's her mother because she would surely not leak any information to the media.

"She is the one member of Meghan's family important enough to receive not only an invite to the May 19 vows, but a prime seat near Queen Elizabeth, the relative who would never think to sell her daughter out or reveal private details of her tea with the Queen," the report read.
