Prince William and Kate Middleton recently showed subtle control over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle whey they released photos and videos from last weekend’s flower show.

During an interview with Sky News, royal author Angela Levin claimed that Prince Harry and Markle are also determined to do things their way when they dropped a video featuring photos from their wedding on their first anniversary.

“I think this is subtle control from both of them and subtle competition. I think that each couple is determined that they’re going to do it their way and obviously sometimes there’s a big clash,” she said.

Levin went on to say that the subtle control and competition between the royal siblings and their wives go way back to the time of Princess Diana’s death. Following the accident, Prince William and Prince Harry both hated the press with a passion.

The royal couples really don’t want the press to control any of their private areas, which includes their children.

All of the royal couples’ recent posts on their respective Instagram accounts were not released to or by the press. They came from the palace itself. Presenter Kay Burley said that Prince William, Middleton, Prince Harry, and Markle also want to control the photos that they release to the public.

“Because previously photo shoots would have involved, I don’t know, 100 photographers all taking photos of the kids for whatever reason. But now, moms taking them,” Burley said.

Middleton is known for taking photos of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis and releasing them to commemorate special occasions such as birthdays, Christmases, and first days of school.

Markle and Prince Harry also released a photo of their son’s foot on Mother’s Day, which was either taken by the Duke or Duchess of Sussex. The couple also created their own Instagram account ahead of Archie Harrison’s birth to separate their household from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
