After nearly a year on hiatus, Starz is finally bringing “Vida” back for Season 2, but there is a big change this year. Fans can binge-watch the series before it even airs on TV.

Showrunner Tanya Saracho made a show about millennials and she wants them to be able to watch it how they want. That means making it binge-able. She pitched the idea of a non-linear release to Starz, and the network ran with it.

“Vida” Season 2 hits several platforms on Thursday, May 23. It will be available on Starz app and Starz On-Demand. The Starz app offers a seven-day trial for first time users before the rate of $5 per month for the first three months kicks in.

Of course, many already have too many streaming subscriptions. Anyone who wants one less password to keep track of might prefer adding one of the Starz extensions to their already existing plans. Starz can be bought through Amazon Prime, Hulu, Sling TV and DirecTV Now for additional fees (usually under $10).

Though “Vida” Season 2 has more episodes than Season 1 (which only had six), it will still be a quick binge-watch. It has 10 half-hour episodes, making it five hours total. However, audiences can still watch it in a linear fashion as well. “Vida” Season 2 will also air on TV. The first two episodes of Season 2 will play back-to-back on Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on Starz.

“Vida” follows two Mexican-American sisters who return to their old neighborhood in Los Angeles after their mother dies and discover that she had plenty of secrets. The first season ended with the women deciding to find a way to keep their mother’s bar up and running. The second season will show them trying to figure out how to do that.

The gentrifying neighborhood doesn’t want to see more change, but the bar needs new clients and a lot of updates if they intend to survive. Emma (Mishel Prada) is ready to do whatever it takes to succeed regardless of people’s feelings while Lyn (Melissa Barrera) has to figure out how to start taking responsibility for her actions. They both have the added stress of taking care of Eddy (Ser Anzoategui), who was the victim of a hate crime. Fans will have to tune in to see if they can make it work.
