The HTC One M8 has been yet again confirmed to receive the Android M update. The long-awaited HTC Sense 7 UI will be made available along with Android M for HTC One M8 users.

According to Droid-Life, HTC UK released a tweet that the Sense 7 UI update will be available for HTC One M8 users in August. But when Mo Versi, a product manager with HTC, was asked when the Sense 7 UI would come for One M8 handsets, he tweeted that it will be released along with Android M update.

This means that HTC One M8 users will have to wait longer to receive HTC Sense 7 UI. The HTC One M9 handsets come preinstalled with the new user interface software.

The new Android M is expected to officially get unleashed in October with the Google Nexus 2015 smartphones. Since HTC One M9 is the flagship of 2015, it is likely to receive the Android M update first.

Moreover, users who have purchased HTC One M8 through carriers will have to wait even longer for their operators to approve the Android M update and release it. Apart from the HTC One M9 and M8, the HTC One M9+ phablet is also going to receive the Android M update later this year.

Droid Life further adds that the Taiwanese tech giant will not be releasing the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for HTC One M8 users. Rumors are suggesting that even the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will be skipped in order to directly update HTC One M8 handsets with Android M OS.

In the U.S, except for Verizon, other leading carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint have released the HTC One M9 Android 5.1 Lollipop update. International users of the M9 are also receiving Android 5.1.

However, the Taiwanese tech giant has not revealed whether Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will come to HTC One M9 users or be skipped to directly install Android M. According to Yibada, since Android 5.1 has already released for M9 owners, the Android 5.1.1 may also arrive before Android M is rolled out.
