A man tried to help a brother in need but he ended up hurting himself and lost his life.

The news of this unfortunate event broke earlier today, when CBS Boston reported a man who was hit by a vehicle after stopping to help another driver on the Interstate 495 in Raynham.

The other man reportedly hit a deer around 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes so he pulled over because the vehicle got disabled. According to Massachusetts State Policy, another man stopped his vehicle on the highway and got out in order to help the other driver. Unfortunately, a passing vehicle fatally struck the man, who they called a Good Samaritan, and killed him.

There were no reports of other injuries except the death of the said man. The man who accidentally hit the “Good Samaritan” stayed with the victim, ABC News reported. Police refrain from disclosing other pertinent details involving the incident, including the names of the people involved, because of the ongoing investigation.

There had been a few documented accidents that happened within the said area. City Data.com has a collection of data showing fatal crashes and road traffic accidents in Raynham, Massachusetts. Based on the said data, there were 6 fatal accident counts in 2017 alone. There were 9 vehicles and 10 persons involved in fatal accidents. There were 6 fatalities and 2 fatal accidents involving drunk persons.

Just 4 weeks ago, both Raynham Police and Fire Deparments had responded to a collision which resulted in life-threatening injuries to two adults, according to the Press Release published in Raynham Police Department's official site.

Helping another man is an admirable act. It is in human being’s nature to extend help to a brother or a sister in need but one has to ensure his or her safety first before jumping into the wagon. Otherwise, the said act of service will become a futile exercise.

Would you place your life at stake to help another man if there was another way, a safer way, to do it?

It is note-worthy that road accidents happen sometimes; hence, taking responsibility and being vigilant for your safety is a must. After all, prevention is better than cure —or death. It is very important that one should pay attention to the road because numerous accidents happen because the driver failed to do that, Business Today reported.

The "I-never-saw-him" reason is reportedly unacceptable because every river should have the accountability to stay alert. Additionally, the driver must also provide enough distance from another to maneuver the vehicle out from an impending dangerous situation.

Motorists reportedly need watch out for cars pulling out from parking spaces and be wary when approaching traffic signals and service roads when driving on a busy street.
