MADRID, March 1 - Iberian spot power prices recovered on Monday from two-month lows hit over the weekend as demand rose with the beginning of the working week.

The Spanish-based Omel exchange fixed the day-ahead pool price for Tuesday at 16.21 euros per megawatt-hour, up from a level of 13.80 published for Monday, the lowest for a working day so far in 2010.

The previous minimum pool price for a working day was 3.40 euros/MWh set for Dec. 31, which was itself the lowest level since records began in 1998 and was due to strong winds and a slump in demand during the festive season.

Gale-force winds have boosted supplies of cheap power to the grid in recent days from Spain's booming wind parks and weakened spot prices, traders say. (Reporting by Martin Roberts, editing by Anthony Barker)
