Following the arrest of suspect Bryan Kohberger in the murders of the University of Idaho students, new bodycam footage revealed one of the victims spoke with the police three months before she was killed.

Kaylee Goncalves, 21, was one of the four students allegedly stabbed to death on Nov. 13, 2022, at an off-campus rental home.

Three months before the massacre, Goncalves had an encounter with police, which was documented through a bodycam.

The video from Aug. 16 shows Goncalves exiting the off-campus home to speak with police about a noise complaint. In the footage, an officer informs Goncalves that neighbors called to complain about a recent party at her home.

The officer told Goncalves that he had no problem with people who are "overage" drinking at a party but noted that once neighbors "start calling the cops, then we have an issue."

The officer told Goncalves that he would let her off with a verbal warning. She replied, "Fair."

If the police received a call about the same issue again, police said Goncalves would receive a $300 to $400 ticket for disturbing the peace, and it would only get more expensive from there.

After getting Goncalves' information, the officer suggested she avoid getting a ticket so she could spend her money on anything else like "beer or something fun."

He went on to reiterate his earlier statements by warning the college senior to keep the noise down. "I'd hate to come back in a few hours and have to issue that," he said.

Goncalves then thanked the officer and wished him a good day. There was no mention of Kohberger or anyone that may have matched his description.

Three months later, police in Moscow, Idaho, were called to that same home where they discovered the bodies of Goncalves; Madison Mogen, 21; Ethan Chapin, 20; and Xana Kernodle, 20.

Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania on Dec. 30 on four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary. He was later extradited to Idaho to face charges.

Kohberger returned to court on Thursday, where he waived his right to a speedy trial.

A judge scheduled a preliminary probable cause hearing to start June 26 and ordered the murder suspect to remain in custody. Kohberger is being held without bail in the Latah County jail in Idaho.
