“Luther” star Idris Elba took to Twitter Monday to slam rumors he and legendary performer Madonna were dating. They supposedly kissed after the British actor's debut kickboxing match at York Hall in London Saturday.

“Am I sleeping with Madonna? No mother-----,” he tweeted Monday. “Don't believe the Hype.” The post was liked more than 4,500 times by his nearly 2 million followers.

Madonna, for her part, confirmed she was at the kickboxing match with ringside seats. She shared a short video of Elba fighting in the ring. “Idris Elba Smashes it at York Hall,” she wrote to her 8.2 million followers Saturday.

Madonna, 58, then posted pictures of the two of them together on Snapchat. In one image, she sparred with the actor. In another, they posed for a picture on the floor together. “I kicked his butt,” she wrote.

As far as romance is concerned, the couple got close at an after-party at London’s M Restaurant Saturday.

“They arrived together at around 3am and were all over each other. There was nothing subtle about it, no attempt to hide. It was very blatant,” an insider told The Sun Saturday. “They were at the party for about an hour, they would dance, go off to smooch, then mingle a bit more.
They only had eyes for each other. That seemed very, very clear.”

Last year, Elba, 44, tweeted an image of himself holding hands with Madonna on stage. He captioned the November 2015 photo, “Legend.”

Why is the actor in the ring at all? Elba, who has been working to become a professional kickboxer, is currently filming the documentary series, “Idris Elba: Fighter.” It was scheduled to be released in 2017. For those who are curious, he reportedly won his first fight Saturday.

Elba’s upcoming film, the British drama “100 Streets,” was picked up by Samuel Goldwyn Films Oct. 18. The flick will premiere in theaters nationwide Friday, Nov. 11.
