KEY POINTS

  • The Sixers and Pacers are expected to engage in a shootout when they face off on Wednesday
  • The Pacers need to put up better defense if they want to steal a win from the Sixers
  • Embiid is expected to be the anchor on both ends for Philly against the visiting Pacers

The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, January 4 at the Wells Fargo Center with both teams putting their respective winning streaks on the line.

This will be the second meeting between the two NBA teams with the Sixers winning last time out, 120-106.

The Pacers are coming off a win over the Toronto Raptors in their last assignment, 122-114.

The Sixers, on the other hand, came out victorious in their last match against the New Orleans Pelicans, 120-111.

According to oddsmakers, the Sixers hold a -7.5 spread advantage over the Pacers, who are at +7.5.

The Moneyline for Philadelphia is at -309, while Indiana is at +249.

The Pacers have been doing well on offense, scoring 115.6 points per game and owning a 46.3% shooting clip from the field.

A big reason for this is Tyrese Haliburton, who is leading the way with a 20.7 points average per game.

Aside from that, he is also doing his share of passing to his teammate with 10.1 dimes per game.

Other players who have been helping out for Indiana are Myles Turner and Buddy Hield.

But if there is a department that Indiana needs to work on, it would be its defense. T

hey are allowing opponents 115.8 points per game and allowing them to shoot 46.8% from the floor.

This is the 21st most points given up per contest and the 12th-lowest shooting percentage allowed.

For the Sixers, there is no doubt that with Joel Embiid and James Harden in tow, their offense is incredible.

They are scoring 112.1 points per game and own a 47.7% shooting clip from the field.

Defensively, the Sixers are only allowing 108.3 points per game and limiting their opponents to 46.% from the floor.

This is the second least amount of points given up per game and the eighth-lowest shooting percentage allowed.

Hence, it all boils down to which team can put the clamps on the other.

The game will be televised via NBCS-PH and BSIN at 7:00 PM ET. Alternatively, the NBA matchup can be viewed via live stream on fubo TV.
