KEY POINTS

  • Apple has launched the new iPhone 12 series of handsets
  • Consumers can get new iPhone 12 units for free via carriers
  • Some are offering free iPhones to existing customers, while others offer reduced prices via bill credits

Apple only recently launched the new iPhone 12 series of smartphones. The new devices boast the best specs and features that the company has to offer in a mobile device, which also means they do not come cheap. Thankfully, interested parties can get the iPhone 12 series models for free via certain carriers.

Listed below are a few things that consumers can do to get their hands on an iPhone 12 series handset, specifically the non-Pro iPhone 12. While it doesn't have the same high-end camera features found in the iPhone 12 Pro models, the iPhone 12 still has the new A14 Bionic chip as well as a better camera setup compared to the iPhone 11 series.

Go to AT&T

AT&T is “offering free iPhones to both new and existing customers,” Bloomberg reported. This means anybody, whether they have or don't have an AT&T plan, can get their hands on the new 6.1-inch iPhone 12 without needing to pay extra if they buy on a qualifying installment plan with an eligible unlimited plan. They will also need to trade in an existing iPhone 8 or newer to avail of the free device.

Those who want to get the new iPhone 12 will need to stick with the carrier for at least 30 months on a payment installment plan. While this means consumers will need to pay monthly fees for their texts, calls and data, they won't have to worry about paying a cent for the new Apple smartphone.

Go to Verizon

Verizon is also giving away free 6.1-inch iPhone 12 units to existing customers, business customers and switchers (those who will switch to Verizon from another carrier). In order to get the device without extra charge, however, customers will need to trade in an eligible smartphone and sign up for a select unlimited plan.

Go to T-Mobile

Those who add a new line and trade in an eligible device (iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone XS) will receive up to $850 in bill credits from T-Mobile, the carrier said. This is but one of the enticing offers it brings to consumers looking for ways to get the new devices for less.
