J Balvin shared his struggles with anxiety and depression in an emotional video he shared in his Instagram Story.

Balvin is one of the most successful Colombian singer today. But in a tearful video, he got candid as he spoke about the "challenges" he has been battling lately.

"This time it's anxiety and some depression," he said in his local Spanish dialect, Entertainment Tonight reported.

"I don't like acting or faking my happiness or that everything is perfect," the singer continued. "I'm like any human being. I'm fragile and vulnerable, possibly more than all of you."

The outlet noted that Balvin has been posting less on social media in the past weeks. He also thanked his fans for staying connected.

"Soon, the storm will pass and I'll be back cracking jokes with you all," he continued.

"I'm not here to act but to be real and share what I'm feeling in the moment."

Twitter users have mixed opinions on Balvin’s predicament. Others wished him well because they’re aware it’s more challenging at this time due to the pandemic.

"And the COVID time does not make it any easier on People with Anxiety and Depression. I know what he is talking about, I have Anxiety and Panic Disorder and I also struggle with Depression," one wrote on Twitter.

"I hope you feel better soon. You are not alone," another added.

However, others dismissed Balvin’s struggles because for them, other people have it worse.

"What a little b---h. The entire world is anxious and depressed right now," one wrote.

"35yo. Hmm.... there are people with ZERO MONEY, ready to lose their homes and diseases!!! PERSPECTIVE!!" another added.

"Sorry bruv. NIGERIA is worse than Anxiety and Depression," a different user wrote.

But while some didn’t appreciate Balvin opening up about his struggles, Camilla Cabello was among those who admired the Colombian artist for doing so. In an entry for Time Magazine, she praised Balvin because his honesty and vulnerability helped her ease her own battle.

"During a period of intense anxiety, I saw his posts on Instagram talking about his struggle with anxiety and mental health, and I remember bursting out crying because I no longer felt alone,” she wrote.
