In what seems like a messy battle, Jaime King's ex-husband Kyle Newman is accusing her of emptying their joint bank accounts and forcing him to leave their family home as their divorce battle continues.

On Sept. 2, Newman alleged that the "Hart of Dixie" star "emptied and closed" their joint bank accounts. Newman said he was left with minimal access to their funds in the court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

He requested King to pay for his legal fees as he is a stay-at-home dad to their two sons James, 6, and Leo, 5. This, he said, makes it hard for him to pay the $150,000 he already incurred. He wanted the repayment to the lawyer representing him amounting to $70,000.

Newman further claimed that though he is a writer, he couldn’t accept jobs that require him to travel, so he is "entirely reliant on Jaime for support of myself and the children.” He added that King's move to close their accounts left him "in financially dire straits.”

Aside from the financial issues, Newman also alleged that King "excluded him from the family residence" and has prolonged their legal battle, which also leads to more legal fees.

Newman still has personal belongings in their shared home and wants his money from their joint accounts.

"I continued to be left without the funds necessary to pay for my attorneys, including funds to proceed with preparing and filing requests for support and custody," he said.

King and Newman's divorce was first reported in May. King filed for divorce after 13 years of marriage. The pair tried to settle the matter in June but did not reach a resolution.

Newman added that King left their boys with him and returned to work. She flew to Canada to film the new season of "Black Summer" but didn't provide support or give him access to community funds.

He also pointed out his role as primary caregiver to their sons and King's history of substance abuse as the main reasons for his need for financial reimbursement.

"Since the children’s birth‚ Jaime has rarely been alone with the children. I do not recall her ever taking them anywhere by herself- there has always a nanny, godparent‚ someone to supervise and help her," Newman added.

"By 2015, it became evident to me that Jaime was not capable of taking care of the children — she simply did not have the faculties or ability to take care of them given her substance abuse issues.”

In related news, just last month, King shared photos of her with her two boys on Instagram. In the snaps, she was seen hugging them.

“It’s the hardest thing in the world to say goodbye as a working mother,” she wrote in the caption.
