Jameela Jamil set the record straight about her alleged close relationship with Meghan Markle and slammed the British media that keep on spreading fake news about the duchess.

Express published a report claiming that the "Good Place" actress is quarantining with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Santa Barbara. Jamil denied it in a series of posts on Twitter.

"LOL. Went to a hotel in SB for a romantic getaway with my boyfriend... and have seen 8 days of articles with increasingly ridiculous stories, none of which are consistent, none of which make sense... (all to now create the lie that she controls me and coordinates my every move)," she wrote on Twitter along with a screenshot of the article that has since been deleted.

"I’ve met this woman once. Ever. #BestFriends These articles are a strategy to now blame her for MY every word and move. And to attempt to discredit my calling them out as if it isn’t a *FACT* that they bully and harass her for clicks, to feed Britain’s already sturdy xenophobia," she added.

Jamil also criticized the British media coverage of Markle. In another post, she accused the media of trying to justify their years of "racially motivated abuse/harassment by turning the public against her based on lies and rumors." She recalled a report claiming that Markle would "thicken the Royal blue blood with EXOCTIC DNA."

She also defended the couple from those who claim that Prince Harry and Markle are still depending on British taxpayers by sharing an article about the Sussexes' business deal with Netflix.

“Oh no! But how is everyone going to keep perpetuating the lie that they live off British tax payers?! It’s so exciting to see how this will somehow be twisted,” she wrote.

In related news, Markle has been criticized for talking about the election in the United States. Piers Morgan urged the queen to strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex their royal titles insisting that "they can’t remain as royals & spout off about foreign elections in such a brazenly partisan way." However, royal expert Marlene Koenig defended Prince Harry and Markle.

"Meghan is American. Telling people to vote is non partisan they are not working royals," the royal expert commented on Morgan’s post.
