It goes without saying that “Jane the Virgin” star Justin Baldoni, who plays Rafael Solano in The CW series, has a toned body. The show even utilized Baldoni’s assets in the show by making him take his top off on occasion, much to the delight of Team Rafael fans. But in real life, Baldoni has no reason to go shirtless — at least, that’s what his wife Emily believes.

Baldoni and his family are currently vacationing in Hotel Mar Adentro in San José del Cabo, Mexico. He already shared some gorgeous photos of their hotel and beach view, but this time around, he wanted fans to appreciate a different kind of view.

Baldoni jokingly shared that he wanted to come up with a pretty deep caption to accompany his shirtless post, but his wife did not approve. She told him, “NO! You can't post a picture of you ALONE shirtless by the pool and talk about OUR marriage!”

For “Jane the Virgin,” showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman teased that Rafael will have an exciting new storyline this Season 3. He spent a huge chunk of Seasons 1 and 2 pining over Jane, but after she got married, he decided it’s time to move on. “He has a great storyline that I'm really excited about,” Urman told The Hollywood Reporter. “Rafael definitely has some big romantic moves this year.”

Snyder was definitely referring to Jane’s cousin, Catalina (Sofia Pernas). She surprisingly appeared during the last scene of Chapter 49, and in the next episode, she easily won over Jane and Rafael.

Some fans might not like seeing Rafael make moves on Jane’s cousin, but Urman explained to Indie Wire that it was time for Rafael to have a new romantic interest. “It… let me have more fun with Rafael because I was kind of sick of seeing him moon. He’s a great-looking guy and he’s going to have ladies in his life, and he really did love Jane but I thought it was an important character step for him to watch Jane get married and to have that affect him too,” she said. “Because who would he be if he’s just constantly skulking around the background?”

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
