Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer are addressing tabloid reports that their relationship has turned romantic.

In May, Aniston, 52, and Schwimmer, 54, sent the internet into a frenzy after revealing on the "Friends" reunion special on HBO MAx that they had a mutual crush on each other during the early seasons of the show. Then, on Monday, Closer claimed that the reunion "stirred up feelings" for the former co-stars and that they've been spending time together at her home.

However, a rep for Schwimmer told HuffPost U.K. Wednesday that there is no truth to the reports of a romance between him and the "Morning Show" star.

A spokesperson for Aniston subsequently denied the rumors in a statement to the same outlet.

During the "Friends: The Reunion" special, which aired in May, Aniston and Schwimmer admitted that they had a crush on each other and that the on-screen chemistry between their characters, Rachel Green and Ross Gellar, was real.

"The first season, I had a major crush on Jen," Schwimmer said, to which Aniston replied, "It was reciprocated."

Schwimmer went on to reveal that they "were both crushing hard on each other" at some point while filming "Friends." However, they never went beyond friendship because "one of us was always in a relationship."

"We never crossed that boundary — we respected that," Schwimmer claimed.

Aniston also said during the special that they "just channeled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel."

The "Murder Mystery" actress shared more details about her relationship with Schwimmer during an appearance on SiriusXM's "The Howard Stern Show" in June.

"We were in relationships and it was always never the right time and it wouldn’t have worked," Aniston said. "The beauty of that was that whatever feelings we had we just literally channeled everything into Ross and Rachel and I think that’s maybe why it resonated the way it did."

When Howard Stern asked why she didn't "bang" Schwimmer, Aniston said she would have been proud to say if it had happened, but it did not.

The actress said her friends and former co-stars Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, who were also present during the interview, could back her statements that she and Schwimmer never dated.

"He was lovely, David was great. But no, we never, on my life [got together]. And Courteney and Lisa would know if it did because they would’ve heard about it. They can vouch for me," Aniston said.
