  • Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt broke up in 2005
  • Romance rumors spread after their reunion at 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards
  • Aniston and Pitt  are reportedly just friends and happy for each other

Jennifer Aniston revealed Brad Pitt was one of her favorite actors who made a special appearance on “Friends,” while talking about former cast members.

The 52-year-old actress, alongside Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox, sat down with Kit Hoover of Access Hollywood for an interview recently. The trio was asked to name some of the favorite personalities who appeared on the popular sitcom, which concluded in 2004.

Aniston mentioned Pitt after she, Kudrow, and Cox named Paul Rudd, Tom Selleck, Charlie Sheen, Reese Witherspoon, and Ben Stiller as their favorite guest stars on the show. “Mr. Pitt was wonderful,” the “We’re the Millers” actress said.

Fans can recall Pitt showing up on “Friends” in 2001 as a former classmate of Aniston’s character, Rachel Green. The former husband of Angelina Jolie received an Emmy nomination for his role even if he only appeared in one episode.

Aniston and Pitt were married at the time of the “Fury” star’s appearance on “Friends.” The couple started dating in 1998 and tied the knot in 2000 in Malibu. However, they decided to part ways in 2005.

In January 2020, Aniston and Pitt sparked romance rumors again after they got reunited at the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The “Friends” actress was seen smiling and applauding as Pitt, who won an award for his performance in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” was giving a speech full of jokes.

Pitt, then, reciprocated Aniston’s gesture by watching “The Morning Show” actress accept the SAG award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series backstage. A photographer even caught a tender exchange between the former lovebirds, with the actor holding Aniston’s hands as they caught up.

The reunion had some fans speculating that Pitt and Aniston could finally get back together, especially since they were both single at the time. An unnamed tipster even told Us Weekly that the two Hollywood stars had flirty moments.

“Brad and Jen have a wonderful connection that might seem flirtatious at times,” the source claimed. “They did each other’s sense of humor and have an infectious energy when they’re together, but they insist things are purely platonic and nothing more than that.”

After Aniston and Pitt’s SAG reunion, an informant told People that the ex-couple is not dating because they are only friends.

“They are friends and happy for each other. They want nothing but happiness for each other. She is happy to have Brad back in her life as a friend, but that’s it,” informant told the publication.
