Jennifer Garner has reportedly responded to Ben Affleck's heartbreaking confession about their 2015 divorce.

During his interview with The New York Times, the “Batman v Superman” star admitted that his split from Garner was the biggest regret of his life.

“Shame is really toxic. There is no positive byproduct of shame. It’s just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing,” he said.

Following his interview, Garner reportedly admitted that she was surprised to hear what Affleck had to say.

“She is touched by his honesty. She’s impressed he’s taken ownership of his mistakes and sees it as a sign that he’s made huge progress,” a source told In Touch Weekly.

The source also revealed that Garner is proud of Affleck for cleaning up his act and for being sober. The actor struggled with his addiction for years, and he has gone to rehab three times. Two years ago, Affleck relapsed and admitted that he felt embarrassed by it.

“It’s been a hard and long process, but he’s finally on the straight and narrow, and she’s proud of him for staying strong,” the source said.

Affleck and Garner have been co-parenting their three children, Violet, 14, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel 7, ever since they announced their divorce. The Hollywood A-listers continue to make public appearances when they head to church service as a family.

While at the premiere of “The Way Back” earlier this week, Affleck shared a story about his eldest daughter. He said that Violet loves to tease him over his use of emojis and his group chat ability.

Violet hilariously asked her dad why other people let him join the group chat when he doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Affleck said that it’s fun to be included in the conversations with his younger co-stars.

During a previous interview, Garner revealed that her children are not on social media because she hasn’t allowed them.
