Jennifer Garner recently attended a church service in the Pacific Palisades sans her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, and three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.

The 47-year-old actress was photographed in a navy-blue and black dress and black sandals. Garner also kept her hair neatly tied in a half ponytail. The “Alias” star also donned dark sunglasses, and she smiled at the paparazzi during her outing.

But visibly absent from the church service are Affleck’s immediate family members. Her three children are currently on their summer vacation so it is unclear why they didn’t accompany their mom to church. Affleck didn’t also join his ex-wife.

On multiple occasions, Garner and Affleck have attended the same church service at the same venue with their three kids. The former couple is co-parenting their three children, but Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel all live with their mom.

There have also been some instances wherein Affleck bonded with his three children without Garner in tow. Affleck and Garner finalized their divorce last year, but they actually filed it four years ago.

By the looks of it, Affleck didn’t join Garner at last Sunday’s church service because he was at the San Diego Comic-Con. The actor reunited with Kevin Smith at the event, and the latter even shared a photo of himself with Affleck on Instagram.

Smith also confirmed that Affleck will be reprising his role as Holden from “Chasing Amy.”

“When we started shooting the movie, the scene didn’t exist. This scene – and more importantly, my reunion with a guy who I’ve missed terribly for nearly a decade – only happened because of [entertainment journalist Kevin McCarthy],” Smith said.

The 48-year-old actor said that McCarthy conducted an interview with Affleck where he asked him if he will appear in the “Jay and Silent Bob” reboot, and he said no. Smith initially thought that Affleck was joking, but he still decided to reach out to him, and Affleck immediately said he’s onboard.
