Jennifer Lopez and her best friend, Leah Remini, will be starring in the upcoming movie, “Second Act.”

The actress made the official announcement on her Instagram account by posting a photo of herself with Remini. The two actresses are wearing knitted sweaters in the snap. They also have huge smiles on their faces. Lopez captioned the photo by saying that “every Lucy needs an Ethal.”

According to Deadline, Lopez and Remini’s film will follow the life of a Big Box store employee (Lopez) who will reinvent her style and her lifestyle. The character will try to prove that it’s never too late for a second act especially since her street smarts are just as valuable as other people’s college degree. Remini will play the role of Lopez’s character’s best friend, Joan, who also happens to be a Big Box employee.

Lopez, Benny Medina, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Justin Zackham will be producing the film. The script was written by Zackham and Goldsmith Thomas. “Second Act” will be directed by Peter Segal.

Meanwhile, Lopez and Remini are also starring in separate TV shows at the moment. The “All I Have” singer is expected to return to the third season of NBC’s “Shades of Blue” sometime next year. Remini, on the other hand, currently appears in CBS’ “Kevin Can Wait” Season 2 as a series regular.

The former Scientologist was plagued with criticism after it was announced that her character, Vanessa, will be seen in all episodes of the sitcom. After all, Remini’s upgraded status was confirmed one day after the network let go of Erinn Hayes. The actress played the role of Donna Gable in Season 1, but her character was killed off.

Fans of “Kevin Can Wait” were also displeased over the fact that Donna’s death was not addressed in the premiere. It was just revealed that Season 2 picked up one year after her demise. Remini defended the network’s decision to not discuss Donna’s death via her Twitter account and reminded fans that “Kevin Can Wait” is a sitcom and not a drama.

“Kevin Can Wait” Season 2 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
