  • Jennifer Lopez revealed that she is a bit “heartbroken” that her wedding has been postponed due to the global health crisis
  • Lopez and Alex Rodriguez planned to have a lavish wedding this summer
  • The singer noted that they will now plan the wedding once the situation gets better

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced people to cancel their wedding ceremonies or birthday celebrations because of the guidelines imposed by the governments. A lot of couples are taking the extreme steps of having their weddings on video-calling apps while others are still waiting for the situation to get better.

One such person is Jennifer Lopez. Lopez and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez were set to have a lavish wedding in Italy this summer. However, the couple was forced to cancel their nuptials because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Lopez recently opened up about how she feels after taking such a hard decision, and she explained how the wait can prove to be a blessing in disguise for them.

While appearing on “The Today Show,” the 50-year-old musician revealed that she is a bit “heartbroken” because they had to postpone the wedding and admitted that she has “mixed feelings” about having to put it off.

The “On The Floor” hitmaker further stated that the postponement could actually be a good thing because there could be “bigger plans” for them from above.

“I am a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans but I am also like, you know what? God has a bigger plan so we just have to wait and see. Maybe it is going to be better. I have to believe that it will be,” Lopez said.

The singer also made it clear that they currently have no plans in mind and are just waiting for the situation to get better. However, she reiterated that it is very “disappointing” for her and Alex because they were really excited about it.

“There is no planning right now. You just have to kind of wait and see how this all plays out. It is disappointing on one level, you know, after the Super Bowl and after filming 'World of Dance,’ I planned to take time off. But you know, we had a lot of plans for this summer and this year but, everything is kind of on hold right now,” Lopez said.

The couple got into a relationship in 2017 and were engaged in March 2019. Lopez and Rodriguez got a handwritten note from the Obamas, congratulating them on their engagement.
