Joey King Reacts To Ex Jacob Elordi's Claim He Didn't Watch 'Kissing Booth 2'

Joey King has slammed her ex-boyfriend and "The Kissing Booth" co-star Jacob Elordi's claim that he didn't watch the sequel of their rom-com Netflix movie.

Elordi said in a recent interview that he has not yet seen "The Kissing Booth 2." When she caught wind of his statement, King, who plays Elordi's love interest in the movie, refuted his claim via Twitter, saying that he was lying.

"Jacob watched it. He’s capping," King wrote Thursday in a now-deleted tweet, which fans managed to capture before she took it down.

King's tweet came just hours after Elordi's recent comments about the sequel of their hit Netflix movie.

"I haven’t seen it. You’ve seen more than I have. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that, but I haven’t. Do you like it?" he told Variety in an interview posted Thursday.

When told by the interviewer during the Zoom conversation that "Kissing Booth 2" was better than the first movie, Elordi said, "That’s so kind of you."

As for the co-stars, Elordi and King fell in love while filming the first movie and dated for a year and a half after finishing "The Kissing Booth" before eventually splitting in November 2018. Months before their breakup, the actress opened up about her relationship with Elordi and how close they were on set.

"When we first met, me, him and Joel [Courtney] went out to dinner and we had the best, most fun night ever. By the end of dinner, we had like six inside jokes. We were so close and throughout filming, I was just best friends with Jacob," she told Seventeen in June 2018.

"I guess there was no moment, but I feel like the friendship kind of naturally was like, 'Oh, hey, this person is super frickin' awesome. We have so much in common and we really love spending time together. Maybe there’s something more there,'" she recalled. "It was never like this moment of ‘OMG, I can’t let him see me like this.’ You know what I mean? We were open books with each other. There was nothing we wouldn’t talk about. He’s just so great. After the first month, I was like, ‘Hmm, I think I like him.'"

Following their split, King moved on with producer Steven Piet. Meanwhile, Elordi is now dating his “Euphoria” co-star Zendaya.

King has also been romantically linked to Taylor Zakhar Perez, one of the new cast members of "The Kissing Booth 2." King and Perez have been spotted together lately, but the latter made it clear that they are not an item.

"I love her. I love her dearly. I’d do anything for her. We’re not dating. I’ll end it with that," Perez said.
