Johnny Depp has claimed that he occasionally took drugs with his ex Amber Heard.

Depp’s legal battle against The Sun continues. Last week, NGN, The Sun’s publisher, asked to dismiss Depp’s libel case because he allegedly deliberately withheld evidence about his drug use at the time.

However, Depp wasn’t the only one who used drugs when he was with Heard. He shared that they actually took MDMA, magic mushrooms and cocaine together, The Sunday Times reported.

Depp said in a witness statement that they “took drugs together,” but “these were not common occurrences.”

Depp also denied that he withheld his history of drug use from the trial.

“I have been open about my challenges with alcoholism and addiction [all] my life,” he said.

NGN’s lawyer, Adam Wolanski, claimed that Depp’s drug use was significant in the case and withholding the texts when he allegedly asked for “happy pills” and “whitey stuff” was reportedly a breach of the previous court order requiring him to provide all the documents relevant to the libel case.

Depp’s lawyer David Sherborne argued and defended his client. According to him, the defendants’ claim that Depp withheld the document because it was “profoundly damaging to his case” was no true. Sherborne provided two reasons why they didn’t present the text messages.

“First, the claimant has already provided this document in the US libel proceedings,” he said.

“Secondly, the issue in this case is whether the defendants can prove that the claimant committed serious domestic violence and put Ms Heard in fear. It is not about whether Mr Depp asks for drugs.”

Meanwhile, in 2016, Heard opened up about Depp’s drug and alcohol abuse in the documents she filed in Los Angeles County Court. The “Aquaman” star confessed that she feared for her safety while she was with Depp.

“I am extremely afraid of Johnny and for my safety,” the actress stated in her declaration, Variety reported.

“His relationship with reality oscillates. Depending on his interaction with alcohol and drugs. Johnny has a long-held and widely-acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse. He has a short fuse. He is often paranoid and his temper is exceptionally scary.”
