Johnny Depp is reportedly trying to get sober again after a recent relapse. The story, it should be noted, comes from The National Enquirer. The Hollywood A-lister seemed intoxicated at the Hollywood Press Awards in November and was since pressured to seek sobriety once more, the magazine wrote.

His fiancé Amber Heard is reportedly staying by his side as he fights to get well. “Amber and family members asked him to get help,” a source told the National Enquirer via Radar Online. “She is dead serious about walking away from him unless he cleans up his act.”

French model Vanessa Pardis, who is Depp's ex-girlfriend and the mother of his two children Lily Rose and Jack, reportedly blames Heard after he allegedly fell off the wagon, but sources dismissed that rumor to the magazine. “Amber broke his sobriety, but she isn’t necessarily a bad influence.”

His most recent movie “Into The Woods” debuted in theaters Thursday, but Depp, 52, has not appeared at any press events to promote the film. Sources alleged this is because there were “concerns over Johnny’s privacy.” Instead, co-star Anna Kendrick, who plays Cinderella in the musical, has been making her rounds to speak about the movie.

In the past, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has admitted to struggling with alcohol. During a sitdown with Rolling Stone in 2013, Depp said he was sober for at least 18 months. Still, he did not consider himself to be an alcoholic. “No, I don't have the physical need for the drug alcohol,” he told Rolling Stone, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail. “No, it's more my medication, my self-medication over the years just to calm the circus. Once the circus kicks in, the festivities in the brain, it can be ruthless.”

The star has a tattoo reading “Wino Forever,” which he got to cover up former girlfriend Winona Ryder’s name. He admitted to Rolling Stone that he and booze got along “maybe too well.” After years of drinking, he essentially said there was no more point to continue. “I just decided that I pretty much got everything I could get out of it,” the renowned actor said.
