A new trailer for “Justice League” was released Sunday morning, and it kicked off with someone familiar: Superman. The movie isn’t spoiling his return from the dead, though.

The “Justice League” clip (seen above) starts off with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) in Smallville, Kansas, seeing Clark (Henry Cavill) in a cornfield. He is just standing there in a plaid shirt and tells Lois, “I’ll take that as a yes.”

He’s referring to the diamond engagement ring she was wearing at his funeral. Lois then wakes up in bed alone. It was all just a dream. Superman is still dead, and the world is suffering without him. Violence and crime rates are skyrocketing, and a big threat against humanity is coming.

The latest “Justice League” trailer excited fans by showing Superman. Warner Bros.

The trailer then jumps into the action. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Batman (Ben Affleck), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) have to unite to save humanity in the wake of Superman’s death. It’ll clearly take some work. “A strong man is strongest alone. You ever hear that?” Aquaman asks.

“That’s not a saying. That’s the opposite of what the saying is,” Bruce points out.

Some heroes will take some more convincing than others, but eventually, they’ll become a team. As a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” plays, the superheroes come together fight their enemy.

The fight scenes definitely look epic. It seems like we’ll see the Amazon warriors in Themyscira take on the evil forces, and we’ll see how Aquaman fights both underwater and in the sky.

It all comes back to Superman, though. “The world needs Superman,” Batman says as audiences see him looking at what appears to be a hologram of the caped crusader. “I made him a promise. This is why I brought you together.”

While superhero fans love some good action sequences, Superman really stole the show here. The Kryptonian died at the end of “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but his return has been highly anticipated.

Most fans know that Cavill will play the Man of Steel again, but it seems they’re happy that the trailer isn’t spoiling his return. On Twitter, fans noted how happy they were with the dream sequence.

It seems that despite the spoiler-loving habits of many comic book movie fans, Superman’s return from the dead is one thing they want to wait and see on the big screen.

It sounds like the actor is just as excited. “I’m not one to wish time away, but I am very keen for November 17th to hurry up so all of us (in our many variedness) get to show you our movie!” Cavill wrote on Instagram. “As a comic book movie fan myself, I'm just chomping at the bit to sit in a cinema and watch it with a full audience!!”

While not much is known about Superman’s return, it’s clear that Cavill’s face will be digitally altered. The star grew a mustache for “Mission Impossible 6,” and Joss Whedon’s reshoots for “Justice League” filmed at the same time. Cavill was not allowed to shave his facial hair mid-shoot, so the DC movie will have to use special effects to clear the star’s face.

“Justice League” hits theaters Nov. 17, 2017.
