A completed documentary about Kanye West has been dropped amid the backlash over his antisemitism. In a statement Monday, MRC executives Modi Wiczyk, Asif Satchu and Scott Tenley confirmed the studio will not be proceeding with the distribution of their documentary on the rapper following a discussion with the filmmakers and distribution partners.

"We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform," the statement said. "Kanye is a producer and sampler of music. Last week he sampled and remixed a classic tune that has charted for over 3,000 years—the lie that Jews are evil and conspire to control the world for their own gain."

"This song was performed acapella in the time of the Pharaohs, Babylon, and Rome, went acoustic with The Spanish Inquisition and Russia's Pale of Settlement, and Hitler took the song electric. Kanye has now helped mainstream it in the modern era.

"The silence from leaders and corporations when it comes to Kanye or antisemitism in general is dismaying but not surprising. What is new and sad, is the fear Jews have about speaking out in their own defense," the statement continued.

MRC's decision to shelve the documentary comes just days after French fashion house Balenciaga officially severed ties with the 45-year-old over the recent controversy. "Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist," the company said in a statement.

Furthermore, West's talent agency, Creative Arts Agency (CAA), also dropped him as a client Monday. West signed with the agency for touring representation in 2016 but the artist has not embarked on a tour since then.

Meanwhile, Vogue Magazine, which has featured West on several occasions as a fashion designer, confirmed that neither the magazine nor its editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, plan to partner with West again in the future.

Since the beginning of the month, West has attracted negative attention and mounted calls for companies to cut ties with him following weeks of antisemitic tirades on Twitter and Instagram and during a podcast interview with "Drink Champs," during which he claimed that Jewish people control the media. The remarks led to him being locked out of his Twitter and Instagram accounts and partner companies cutting ties with him.
